🏢 History & Legend
The original temple was destroyed by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1669. The present temple was built in 1780 by Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore. The gold plating on the 15.5-meter spire was donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1839.
